Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.

When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons.

He is free to evade reality, he is free to unfocus his mind and stumble blindly down any road he pleases, but not free to avoid the abyss he refuses to see.

Denial exists because human infants though equipped with trust-o-meters are built to trust blindly and absolutely any older person who wanders past.
