For a batsman, the bat is your main weapon and you need to respect it. The more you respect it, the better it helps with your cricket.

In white-ball cricket, things are different - over there, you outsmart the batsman, and over here in Test cricket, it's all about patience and consistency.

I am an attacking batsman, but I've learned a lot about patience. There are clever bowlers who can pick your weak points, so I have to be a bit patient, play out a spell or two.
