I like human stories. I like stories about situations we can relate to. I like movies like 'Ordinary People' or 'Terms of Endearment.' Mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, boyfriends, girlfriends. The stories to me that are worth telling are almost simple ones, but very relatable.

I think you have to have a sense of humor about every movie that you're doing. Your character needs to be relatable in a way that, even when you're doing the most bizarre things, sometimes a bit of tongue in cheek is necessary to keep up the believability of it.

I never write anything without humor, just because I like humor, but at the same time, it is a way for anything fantastical to become relatable.

Humor's an excellent way to make a point more palatable and/or relatable.

Yes, I live a crazy, exciting, whatever life, but I do think it's quite relatable because it has to be - I'm just a girl from St Louis, Missouri that has lived life like anyone else. There are things that are crazy and over the top, but the basic thread is my family, my career, trying to live and pursuing my dreams.

The issue is sometimes when people are themselves, like, what if you suck, you know? There's a good chance you're not gonna resonate and not be relatable to people. You gotta be a goodhearted, positive person. And a lot of YouTubers I've met anyways are.

I'm very much inspired by things that anger me. If I see bigotry, stupidity, or injustice on the news, I'm inspired to find a way to make it into something comedic and relatable. Anger inspires me. Stupidity inspires me. My family inspires me. My accountant inspires me. Everything and anything, really.

There's the argument that you can relate to someone who's completely unrelatable. In the way that a director shows you his imagination on a film then I get to show you my imagination in a big dumb character.

It's harder to be funny if you're handsome than if you're very normal-looking. It's just more relatable. You're the underdog. I mean it's funny to see people struggle and you don't buy that Brad Pitt is struggling you know that guy could be the most skill-less guy in the world but if you look like that you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Period costume films are fun to discover but they're not relatable. It's more 'Wow that's cool - did it really look like that back then?' Whereas with a comedy you're like 'Yeah that's me that's my friends.' No matter what I want people to relate.
