Art is the path to being spiritual.

Before 'AEnima,' we were just following our gut. There was a lot of anger in the air and we never tried to control that. But just as we mature as humans, with 'AEnima' we tried to be fueled more by spiritual ideas or more of a conscious mode of aiming things in the right place or trying to take more responsibility for our art.

I became a conservative after a deeply profound spiritual awakening at which point I repented of my anger, and God allowed me to see reality.

The spiritual message is we lose our lives in pleasing others; if you're the good child who pleases Mommy and Daddy but internalizes anger, you're setting yourself up for disease.

There's no anger ever in a spiritual. There's always the dream of a hope of a better day coming. That God understands the troubles that I'm experiencing.

I was able to do To Sleep with Anger, a very powerful film about African Americans, their spirituality, and the things that happened within a small community and a family.

Papa had some amazing qualities. He was a very spiritual person. He was very passionate about his work. He was a completely self-made man. At the same time, his generosity and kindness were two aspects of him that really defined his personality.

I've concluded that one of the significant reasons that meditation works is that it consists of withdrawing our attention, and thus our human energy from a concern, allowing Spiritual energy, which is always there (Omnipresence) to flow in and animate the moment.

Science teaches us to question, analyze, research, reason and believe. Spirituality teaches us to question, seek, understand, accept and realize. It is never about which one is more superior. Both are based on intuition. No scientific discovery has been possible without an intuitive leap. And spiritual progress is not possible without an intuitive quest. Both disciplines show us the way to learn and evolve in Life.

Monetizing your art, your spiritual talent, is not a sin. It requires a nuanced approach. You must have humility of expression ? recognize that you are just an instrument through which your art flows. And you must have a sharp understanding of commerce and your market/audience. Overthinking either of these aspects or confusion between these two aspects will leave you in a mess ? and very, very unhappy!

Spirituality teaches you to be fearless. When you realize that everything that you are trying to cling on to or protect, including your own Life, will eventually be gone, will be taken away, you turn fearless!

Spirituality to me is about becoming your own therapist. It's about inner joy and peace so we can be our best version of ourselves. It's about realizing that everything is connected, that everything has meaning because we give it meaning, awakening from this rollercoaster of life, step off and just marvel at the beauty of it all.

The beauty of Life is that everyone goes through their own unique, personal, process of evolution - shaped by time, their lived experiences and the manner in which they internalize learnings from these experiences. Spirituality then is an intensely personal, private, awakening process. Although the truth is one, no one size fits all. And there is no right or wrong way. All roads are headed in the same direction though.

Knowing the known is life, whereas knowing the unknown is spirituality.

What science does not understand is called psychology, what psychology does not understand is called religion, what religion does not understand is called spirituality, what spirituality does not understand is called creation, what creation does not understand is called life, what life does not understand is called the death. There is nothing that the death does not understand-simply, it is an ultimate end of life.

If I would expect better spiritual conditions to serve, I would not have started until the present moment.

Just to say 'I believe' or 'I do not doubt' does not mean that you understand and see. To force oneself to see and accept a thing without understanding is political and not spiritual or intellectual.
