Forgiveness is a two-way street. It's just as important for the person being forgiven as it is for the person forgiving. It's an act of compassion to the one needing forgiveness and an act of closure for the one forgiving.

Others do not owe you forgiveness; you owe it to yourself to forgive yourself.

Self-Love Requires Self-Care; caring for ourselves focuses on our well-being in mind. We are giving ourselves the same forgiveness, kindness, and compassion we give to others.

Forgiveness isn't for the person you're forgiving? It's for yourself. It's hat you do to be set free.

Luke. Your faithlessness doesn't affect God's faithfulness at all. Not at all. He is faithful. Always. That's part of His character. You believed in Him when you were young. Which means, when you ask for forgiveness, He forgives you. Period.

I just believe you go someplace and I seen her layin there and I thought maybe she wouldn't go to heaven because, you know, I thought she wouldn't and I thought about God forgivin people and I thought about if I could ask God to forgive me for killin that son of a bitch because you and me both know I ain't sorry for it and I reckon this sounds ignorant but I didn't want to be forgiven if she wasn't. Remember: He WANTS your fellowship, and He has done everything possible to make it a reality. He has forgiven your sins, at the cost of His own dear Son. He has given you His Word, and the priceless privilege of prayer and worship.

You are angry at the God you were taught to believe in as a child. The God who is supposed to watch over you and protect you, who answers your prayers and forgives your sins. This God is just a story. Religions try to capture God, but God is beyond religion. The true God lies beyond our comprehension. We can't understand His will; He can't be explained in a book. To be convinced in our hearts that we have forgiveness of sins and peace with God by grace alone is the hardest thing.

A God who could make good children as easily a bad, yet preferred to make bad ones; who could have made every one of them happy, yet never made a single happy one; who made them prize their bitter life, yet stingily cut it short; who gave his angels eternal happiness unearned, yet required his other children to earn it; who gave is angels painless lives, yet cursed his other children with biting miseries and maladies of mind and body; who mouths justice, and invented hell--mouths mercy, and invented hell--mouths Golden Rules and forgiveness multiplied by seventy times seven, and invented hell; who mouths morals to other people, and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, then tries to shuffle the responsibility for man's acts upon man, instead of honorably placing it where it belongs, upon himself; and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites his poor abused slave to worship him!

We are not on this planet to ask forgiveness of our deities

Remember He is the artist and you are only the picture. You can't see it. So quietly submit to be painted---i.e., keep fulfilling all the obvious duties of your station (you really know quite well enough what they are!), asking forgiveness for each failure and then leaving it alone.You are in the right way. Walk---don't keep on looking at it.

To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.

To be poor, ugly and, moreover, intelligent condemns one in our society to a dark and disillusioned life...to beauty all is forgiven.

Love as a concrete foundation for an authentically functional civilization requires the around-the-clock labors of forgiveness. Without it, Love fails, Friendship fails, Intelligence fails, Humanity: fails.
