Of course, they only create more misery for themselves and others.

Fame is a cult, because when you are famous. You can't do or say everything you want. You have to say or do what pleases people all the time.

When someone pays you to vote for them. They are actually buying you out of power. Once they win the elections. You won't have power to do or to say anything, because you would have traded your voice, rights and power , by that time they gave you money. They can do and say as they please . You can't object. They bought that power and bought it from you. So they own you.

Sometimes I'll lie awake at night and listen to the sound of the clock. The motor ticks on endlessly. What an unsettling sound it is when you've yet to find peace - to find solace. Sometimes no matter how exhausted my body is, no matter how tired my thoughts are, no matter how sore my brain and my heart are...even then I still can't fall asleep. Sometimes I wish for nothing more than to sleep. Please, allow me to slip away into the darkest corners of the world and let me be. Just let me sleep. You can close your eyes to the surroundings, but you can't close your ears off to the sound around it. And sometimes the things you wish the most not to hear - are the loudest. They will not go away in the night and be silenced.

A good deed has to do with the results, altruism with the intentions. The good deed is, of course, what matters for the person in need or for society. After all pure altruism is rare and without a kind of benefit for the benefactor ? even if that is just a pleasant feeling ? charity would be almost impossible.
