What's amazing is everyone knows who Spider-Man is. We were filming in a Chicano community and standing side by side were a Cal Tech lab technician and a six-year-old boy, and both of them were in awe of the character. In fact, you might say he's an equal opportunity fantasy hero.

I've also just finished filming the role of Robert Brown in 'Just William ' which is due to transmit on BBC One at Christmas.

I got into shape because I took kick-boxing lessons every day to prepare for a fight scene with Taylor Lautner. I really wanted to lie down and eat Chinese food but I kick-boxed every morning and ran. If someone was filming you with your kit off you'd do the same thing.

When I'm filming survival requires movement. You need your energy and you've got to eat the bad stuff and survival food is rarely pretty but you kind of do it. I get in that zone and I eat the nasty stuff but I'm not like that when I'm back home.

In Australia there is a very famous show called 'Home and Away.' I was cast on that at 15. The day I started filming my life changed.

When I come home and I'm tired from filming all day I expect her to be there and make sure everything is cool for me. You know like drawing my bath and helping me into bed.
