Which is why people perceive every thing in isolation, each object separate from the rest. Real wisdom lies in linking everything together-that's when the true shape of all of it emerges.

The distinction between objective and personal thinking must truly first be learned. Many people never learn this (look at our colleagues in the ministry! among others).

As leaders we need to remember that. Strong convictions precede great actions. When we know something is right-- and that conviction is bolstered by the knowledge that our motives are pure...-- we need to follow through. Others may second-guess our thinking and our decision-making. But when we know what's right, we can't let those things throw us off. We need to stand by our convictions.

Humans never invented anything that goes as deep as scientific investigation into understanding why the world is the way it is, nor have we found any other way of seeking knowledge that gets it so consistently right. Doing science is also difficult and frustrating, and in many ways goes against the grain of our spontaneous ways of thinking.

If we stop to think about 'how' we're thinking we will create less problems that we have to think about. And despite the fact that the opposite is equally true, it seems to be more than equally engaged in.

I make a point of thinking with the majority; it's the only way to get a reputation for wisdom.

At any given moment there is an orthodoxy, a body of ideas of which it is assumed that all right-thinking people will accept without question. When you attain the highest wisdom, you will disappear physically because people will start seeing only your ideas and thinking about only your wisdom; you will die physically and you will turn into an empty chair full of universe simply!

To deny the reality of things is to miss their reality; to assert the emptiness of things is to miss their reality. The more you talk and think about it, the further astray you wander from the truth. Stop talking and thinking and there is nothing you will not be able to know.

There are genuine mysteries in the world that mark the limits of human knowing and thinking. Wisdom is fortified, not destroyed, by understanding its limitations. Ignorance does not make a fool as surely as self-deception.
