Appearance could be misleading. Even the cloudy sky may deceive you by suddenly leaving a space for the sun and letting you burn like hell
We are all victims of believing that our method of life is the best course of action. Life is trained fighter and if your method of life is keeping your guard down and leaving your face open, you are going to get your ass kicked. Keeping your guard up too much is no good either, because you can't get any shots in. The best way is to side-step the punches and wait for that one good, clean shot. I was the king of never taking my shots at life. It's so much easier to cover up. I had my opportunity to land the sweet knockout punch. I had my fist balled up and life's chin was fully exposed and I froze. It was in that moment that I stuck my chin out and let life knock me out for a long time.
Life is just a slide. Back and forth between loving and leaving, remembering and forgetting, holding on and letting go.
Leaving my father behind-with all of his baggage-was like giving up an old teddy bear. You know it's just an object, incapable of comforting you with its tattered fur and missing button eye, but it's something you cling to, even though you know it can't give anything back.
I think most people are just trying to be happy, and that most of their actions, however misguided, are in line with that goal. Most people just want to feel they belong somewhere, want to be loved, and want to feel they're important to someone. If you really examine all the wrongheaded and messed-up things they do, they can most often be traced back to that basic desire. The abusers, the addicted, the cruel and unpleasant, the manipulators --these are just people who started this quest for happiness in the basement of their lives. Someone communicated to them through word or deed that they were undeserving, so they think they have to claw their way there over the backs of others, leaving scars and creating damage. Of course, they only create more misery for themselves and others.
Leaving means living before you die.
Some people dream. Others go through life doing what it takes to get by, leaving their dreams by the wayside. I'm a dreamer and a doer, making my dreams a reality and hoping to inspire others to do the same.
"I thought about leaving because of our differences
What is it you do, then? I'll tell you: You leave out whatever doesn't suit you. As the author himself has done before you. Just as you leave things out of your dreams and fantasies. By leaving things out, we bring beauty and excitement into the world. We evidently handle our reality by effecting some sort of compromise with it, an in-between state where the emotions prevent each other from reaching their fullest intensity, graying the colors somewhat. Children who haven't yet reached that point of control are both happier and unhappier than adults who have. And yes, stupid people also leave things out, which is why ignorance is bliss. So I propose, to begin with, that we try to love each other as if we were characters in a novel who have met in the pages of a book. Let's in any case leave off all the fatty tissue that plumps up reality.
Starting over can be the scariest thing in the entire world, whether it's leaving a lover, a school, a team, a friend or anything else that feels like a core part of our identity but when your gut is telling you that something here isn't right or feels unsafe, I really want you to listen and trust in that voice.
When I met a truly beautiful girl, I would tell her that if she spent the night with me, I would write a novel or a story about her. This usually worked; and if her name was to be in the title of the story, it almost always worked. Then, later, when we'd passed a night of delicious love-making together, after she'd gone and I'd felt that feeling of happiness mixed with sorrow, I sometimes would write a book or story about her. Sometimes her character, her way about herself, her love-making, it sometimes marked me so heavily that I couldn't go on in life and be happy unless I wrote a book or a story about that woman, the happy and sad memory of that woman. That was the only way to keep her, and to say goodbye to her without her ever leaving.
Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.
I was always holding onto people, and they were always leaving.
If death meant just leaving the stage long enough to change costume and come back as a new character...Would you slow down? Or speed up?

We sometimes need to learn that insults is not facts. We can't win argument with insults and leaving out facts.
Wise random strangers at bars are modern-day Oracles of Delphi, except drunk and sometimes leaving abruptly when it's their turn for karaoke.
You think money can solve any problem, but all it s good for is buying the things it can, and leaving you free to pursue the things it can't.
The truth is not so important as the leaving of it behind.
The Four Noble Truths are pragmatic rather than dogmatic. They suggest a course of action to be followed rather than a set of dogmas to be believed. The four truths are prescriptions for behavior rather than descriptions of reality. The Buddha compares himself to a doctor who offers a course of therapeutic treatment to heal one's ills. To embark on such a therapy is not designed to bring one any closer to 'the Truth' but to enable one's life to flourish here and now, hopefully leaving a legacy that will continue to have beneficial repercussions after one's death. Just as food eaten without appetite is a tedious nourishment, so does study without zeal damage the memory by not assimilating what it absorbs.
